Below is a brief history of the California MGM Bill proposal.

 

Bill History

 

Jan. 7, 2008 - Bill proposal resubmitted to all 120 members of the California State Legislature.

 

Jan. 8, 2007 - Bill proposal resubmitted to all 120 members of the California State Legislature.

 

Feb. 6, 2006 - Bill proposal resubmitted to all 120 members of the California State Legislature.

 

Mar. 11, 2005 - California State Senator Christine Kehoe (D-San Diego) advises that "numerous health and human rights organizations that are widely recognized and respected" must endorse the California MGM Bill before she will consider sponsoring it. We responded by beginning an endorsement campaign.

 

Feb. 28, 2005 - Bill proposal resubmitted to all 120 members of the California State Legislature.

 

Feb. 28, 2005 - Defined "nonmedical purposes" as "any reason other than a clear, compelling, and immediate medical need with no less-destructive alternative treatment available" in Section 4(b).

 

Feb 23, 2004 - Bill proposal submitted to all 120 members of the California State Legislature in Sacramento, California.

 

Dec. 15, 2003 - Bill proposal posted to MGMbill.org for public comment.
